This was Davis' first Pinewood Derby Racecar event.
We got our block of wood about a month ago and we (or should I say that Daddy, Granddady and Davis) have been wittling (sp?), sanding and painting away in the basement.
Meanwhile....apparently you can buy these pre-made cars at local hobby stores (we didn't know this) so Davis was probably the only kid who actually used the kit provided by the cub scouting program. Also...these 'kits' have weights you can add and so on so that your car can be heavy enough to win without breaking the 5oz rule....again, something we didn't know...
oh well, all I have to say is...
WATCH OUT NEXT YEAR!
participating in the pre-race activities...
the track
the trophy table
Let the Games Begin
(haha....got that MC gals?)
Davis' car is the one on the left (white car)...
Has no idea he came in dead last...just enjoying his pizza and time with his guys.
What about Morgan you ask?....don't worry, she was having just as much fun...
Davis won 'best craftsmenship'...
like I said before, his was the only 'home-made' car...
The boys labeled Davis' car the 'Army Racer'
...and #17?...well, that is Todd Helton's number of course...
(got that Haley?)
